HIV cases in Landhi Hospital: SESSI forms probe body
KARACHI: The Sindh Employees’ Social Security Institution (SESSI) has constituted an inquiry committee to investigate reports concerning HIV cases detected at Landhi Hospital, with officials aiming to determine the circumstances surrounding the cases and assess whether all medical protocols were properly followed.
According to officials, the probe committee has been tasked with reviewing hospital records, examining patient histories, and evaluating infection prevention and control measures in place at the facility. The committee is also expected to interview relevant medical and administrative staff as part of its investigation.
SESSI said the inquiry will focus on identifying the source of the reported cases, verifying compliance with established healthcare standards, and recommending corrective measures if any shortcomings are found. Authorities emphasized that the investigation is intended to ensure transparency and maintain public confidence in healthcare services.
Hospital management has assured full cooperation with the inquiry team, providing access to documents and facilitating inspections of relevant departments.
